THERAPEUTIC PAIN MANAGEMENT
Inner Silence is a mobile occupational therapy clinic specializing in therapeutic pain management. Services come to you in the privacy and security of your own home.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Chronic pain is debilitating and affects every area of your life. Managing pain can be difficult, confusing, and often times with little to no relief. It is time to stop the cycle, jump off the roundabout of pain and begin to live fully. Pain therapy, provided by a Therapeutic Pain Specialist, will provide you with a better of understanding of what pain is, what causes it, where it comes from, and how best to manage it for long term, lasting results. At Inner Silence, we provide services in the comfort and privacy of your own home. This allows us to spend ample time with you to fully understand how pain is affecting your life and develop a treatment plan unique to you.
Step 1
15 MINUTE PHONE CONSULTATION
During this phone conversation, we will discuss therapeutic pain management (pain therapy) and what you might expect in terms of types of therapies provided and typical results. Together, we will decide if this is a good fit for you. FREE
Step 2
INITIAL EVALUATION
We will meet in the privacy and comfort of your own home for a 90 minute initial visit. During this time, we will discuss, in detail, the history of your pain, your detailed medical history, medications you use, and most importantly, how pain is impacting your participation in your life and daily activities - work, play, family life, + more. A thorough evaluation of your nervous system will be completed to determine the mechanisms of pain that you are experiencing. From the information obtained during this first visit, we, together, will develop a plan to reduce your pain and improve your participation in life. $135
Step 3
TREATMENT SESSIONS
After developing your plan of care, 60 minute treatment sessions will also be provided in your home. We will use therapeutic techniques appropriate and individualized to you based on your specific pain mechanisms and your personal preferences for alternative modalities. Sessions may include education in pain neuroscience, gentle movement including exercise or yoga, neurodynamics to desensitize the peripheral nervous system, and graded motor imagery. We may include relaxation or meditation techniques to calm or reset your sympathetic nervous system response and reduce the effect of stress. As this is a collaborative process, you will be encouraged to participate in "homework" to expedite your results. It is my goal that by the end of each session you will experience a decrease in your pain and overtime, you will improve your function. We will determine the optimum number of sessions required to meet your goals during your initial evaluation. Typically, we schedule 4, 8, or 12 sessions and either once or twice per week. See fees/packages below.
