Brooke Cannoot, Occupational Therapist & Therapeutic Pain Specialist

HELLO

I believe that when we feel more connected and in balance within ourselves, it naturally flows into every part of our lives—our relationships, our work, and the way we show up for others.

My goal is to support you in building that sense of connection in a way that feels real and accessible, so you can experience more ease, deeper fulfillment, and a greater sense of peace in your everyday life.

MY STORY

Although interested in Eastern traditions since my college days at Purdue University, it wasn't until I learned to manage the stress of graduate school with yoga practices that my path truly transformed.  I suffered from chronic migraine and finally identified the source as stress when I walked out of my anatomy final and straight to the ER to find relief from my days long headache. To help manage my chronic pain,  I signed up for my first yoga class and was quickly transformed.  I no longer needed medication to manage my headaches.  Serendipitously, I  discovered yoga and the alternative healing modalities at the same time I started my master’s program in Occupational Therapy.

During my studies of neurology and the disease processes, I quickly understood the connection between the ancient knowledge of the East and modern science’s discovery of the effect of stress and trauma on the neuro-matrix.  Simply, the mind-body connection. Over the past 20 years, I have deepened my understanding of the ancient healing arts of yoga, meditation, ayurveda, and energy healing to complement my work as a clinician to assist patients to manage chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. I recognize that for physical symptoms to be well managed, healing must occur on the mental/emotional and soul level through, and by, a well regulated nervous system.

As an Occupational Therapist specialized in both mental health and therapeutic pain, and as a healer trained in alternative modalities, I have a unique understanding of health and well-being.  It is my passion to merge the medical science with healing techniques to provide you with the knowledge to empower you to live a happy and full life, with less pain and more freedom.  It is my ultimate goal that you will require less and less assistance from the greater medical community to manage your pain.
